Meta released Graph API v26.0, deprecating the Commerce Order Management API entirely with no replacement due to the sunsetting of Checkout for Shops. The update also removes several legacy API protocol behaviors and replaces specific Rights Manager fields.

v25.0
acts on July 29, 2028
Meta is deprecating numerous unique impression metrics across Pages, Posts, Videos, and Stories, replacing them with new media view metrics when v26.0 launches. The update also deprecates the metadata query parameter and requires a trust store update for Webhooks mTLS certificates.
Do this: Update reporting to use new media view metrics before v26.0 is released. Stop using the metadata=1 query parameter by May 19, 2026. If using Webhooks mTLS, update your server trust store to include the new Meta Certificate Authority by March 31, 2026.

v24.0
acts on Feb. 18, 2028
Meta released Graph API v24.0, which changes how several ad products are managed programmatically. The API no longer supports creating Messenger lead ads or using legacy workflows to create or update Advantage+ shopping and app campaigns. Additionally, updates to flagged custom audiences will now fail, and new website optimization and budget sharing features were introduced.
Do this: Migrate Advantage+ campaign creation to the new API workflows to avoid disruption. Create future Messenger lead ads via Ads Manager instead of the API. Resolve any flagged custom audiences before January 6, 2026, to ensure they can still be updated.

v23.0
acts on Oct. 8, 2027
Graph API v23.0 introduces default opt-ins for Advantage+ audiences on new ad sets using default or relaxed setups. It also allows age and gender settings to act as targeting suggestions, reaching beyond those parameters if it improves performance. Additionally, planned Special Ad Category requirements have been canceled, and bidding endpoints now require the Instagram User ID instead of the Actor ID.
Do this: Opt out of Advantage+ audiences manually during new ad set creation if strict targeting is required. Update bidding API calls to use ig_user_id instead of instagram_actor_id, and stop sending the canceled Special Ad Category certification fields (is_sac_cfca_terms_certified and is_eligible_for_sac_campaigns).
